about

This song is about the relationships we slowly develop with certain people over time. You can never truly predict how a relationship dynamic will play out, how it will change and take on new shape, potentially leading to a place you may not have even imagined when it all first began. Sometimes the journey with someone can be painful, heartbreaking, hard and long, but it is all a part of the human experience. Sometimes it can lead to love, friendship and a path to getting to know yourself better. Unless you open up and let yourself be vulnerable, you will hardly get to experience any of it at all.

lyrics

Lyrics
Take me whole, take me partial, take me wanting more from you
Take the faces that we carved out from the dark side of the moon
And I have seen you in the morning, in between the shades of light
And the secrets you were keeping, oh you kept them on your side

Chorus
And I still haven’t found the end of your song
It feels like its missing a part
And I know we could talk for the rest of the night
But I won’t let my thoughts keep you up again

Are you waiting for the time, all the time you left behind
Are you waiting for the sunrise in the middle of the night?
And I have seen you from my window as you walk out on the street
And you glance at your reflection, how I wonder what you see

Final Chorus
And I still haven’t found the end of your song
It feels like we're drifting apart
And I know I could wait until it's all written out
But I'm caught up and lost in my thoughts again

about

DYADO Camden, Maine

Dyado (pronounced dee-yah-dough) is the project of east coast songwriters Louisa Stancioff and Matt Lohan. The two are cousins who reconnected later in life, and bonded over playing classic country, and writing songs. Together, they have crafted a hazy, film-grain sound that phases between dreamy California beach days, and fall fields drenched in fog. ... more
